The Surgical Significarces of Extended Profundoplasty

Abstract
|
|
|
In the patients with occlusive¢¥ disease of superficial femoral artery, the profundus femoral artery plays the main role of collateral circulation and is known rarely involved by arteriosclerosis.
Even the artery is involved by arteriosclerosis, the angiographic manifestation is usually stenotic and localize at proximal segment of its origin, which highly open the chance of surgical reconstruction to increase arterial blood flow and pressure to ischemic limb.
In recent years, the extended profundoplasty has been reported as an new armament to peripheral vascular surgeon to establish revascularization of ischemic lower limb.
With presentation an experience of extended profundoplasty, the references are reviewed.
